Teyolia’s New Life in the Dominican Republic: Family Adaptation, Care and Sun Myths
At Xolos Ramírez, we know that a Xoloitzcuintli’s real story begins when they arrive at their new home. In this documentary episode of The Xolos Ramírez Show, we connect across the distance with Graziella Domino and her husband in the Dominican Republic to discover how the young Teyolia has been settling into family life.
Joining the Pack: Integration and Adaptation
Welcoming a new puppy always brings challenges, especially in a home where other animals already live. Yet the family enthusiastically shared that Teyolia’s introduction to their other dogs went remarkably smoothly. As she adjusted, the puppy also displayed natural territorial behaviors that, rather than preventing her from settling in, showed how quickly she was learning the dynamics of her new household.
Health, Development and Skin Care
Skin care is an important part of life with a hairless Xoloitzcuintli in a warm climate. Graziella described how Teyolia’s skin has remained healthy while using natural products from the Xolos Army line. The conversation also touched on an important developmental milestone: her first heat cycle, which the family has been monitoring carefully.
Rethinking Xoloitzcuintli Myths: Stamina and Sunshine
One of the most interesting parts of the conversation was challenging long-standing assumptions. Some people believe that the breed’s lack of hair means Xoloitzcuintli cannot enjoy time in the sun at all. The Domino family’s experience offers a different picture: Teyolia enjoys the Caribbean climate and has shown impressive stamina on her daily walks. Of course, enjoying the sunshine does not eliminate the need to protect hairless skin against excessive sun exposure.
What’s Next for the Community?

- Special live session: We are planning a future live conversation specifically for our followers in the Dominican Republic.
