Reserving a Newborn Xoloitzcuintli Puppy: Growth to Homecoming
A family may feel connected to a particular Xoloitzcuintli almost as soon as the puppy is born. That connection can grow through photos, questions and updates, but reserving early should never mean taking a puppy home prematurely.
What an early reservation actually means
A reservation is an agreement concerning a specific puppy and clearly stated terms. Confirm the puppy's identity, agreed price, initial payment, remaining balance, cancellation conditions and how delivery arrangements will eventually be confirmed.
At Xolos Ramírez some newborn puppies have attracted interest quickly. This does not mean every puppy will be ready to leave at the same age, and reserving never guarantees an unverified delivery date.
Following the puppy's development
Families who choose early can learn the puppy's name, watch physical changes and follow real milestones over time. Dated photos and honest video updates give a better picture than a single catalog image.
Growth is not linear from the viewer's perspective: appearance, behavior and everyday needs change. Updates should communicate what has been observed without promising an adult appearance or temperament.
Care—not the reservation—sets the delivery timeline
Young puppies need an appropriate environment, their mother and littermates when applicable, nutrition, veterinary oversight and developmentally suitable socialization. The release date must be based on welfare, health and relevant requirements.
Early reservation does not justify premature separation, nor does it replace veterinary records, vaccinations or required travel documentation.
For international families, official import and transportation rules should be checked independently. They may require waiting longer than the point when a puppy is otherwise ready to leave the breeder.
Questions worth confirming in writing
- Which individual puppy is being reserved, and how is their identity recorded?
- What is actually known about the puppy's parents and birth?
- What growth updates may the family receive?
- How are installment payments and the balance handled?
- What must be completed before delivery is confirmed?
Clear terms serve both the family and the breeder. If a date, document or travel detail remains uncertain, it should be described as pending.
What about a puppy aged three months or older?
An older puppy is not inherently a lesser choice. More recent observations of play, social interaction and daily behavior can make the selection process easier for some families.
Xolos Ramírez has also seen dogs find their families after several months. The goal is a good fit with a particular individual, not a universally ideal birthday.
From reservation to a shared story
Our idea of a Living Lineage begins with individual identity and continues through life with the new family. Reserving from birth is one way to participate in that story; choosing an older puppy is another.
