Tonalli Memo Arrives at Xolos Ramírez: A New Way to Share Our Living Memory
One of the oldest dog breeds in the Americas has found a new way to reveal the stories still growing around it. Beginning today, recent Tonalli Memo posts offer visitors to the Xolos Ramírez homepage a direct window into our community.
The Xoloitzcuintli has walked beside people for centuries. Its unmistakable figure survives in stories, archaeological objects, paintings and family memories. It also lives in ordinary moments shared today: a first photograph at home, ears beginning to stand, a delivery day, an evening walk or the recollection of a litter. To speak about this Mexican breed is, inevitably, to speak about memory.
That is why it feels natural for Xolos Ramírez—a project centered on responsible breeding, culture, history and careful documentation—to explore new ways of sharing what happens within its community. On September 12, 2026, we took another step in that direction: the Spanish and English homepages gained a section featuring recent posts from Tonalli Memo.
A living part of the community on our homepage
Visitors can now find a recent selection from the Tonalli Memo feed alongside information about our Xoloitzcuintli and the wider Xolos Ramírez universe. The section changes as new messages appear and lets readers continue from our homepage to each original post.
The change may look simple, yet its meaning is larger. Community is no longer only something the website describes; it is also something visitors can see in motion. Conversations, announcements, ideas and milestones shared in a public space can now be discovered without first having to understand the technology underneath.
What is Tonalli Memo?
Tonalli Memo is a place to write and read messages. What sets it apart from a conventional post is its use of eCash to create a public record connected to each message. Reading those posts through Xolos Ramírez requires no cryptocurrency, wallet or specialist knowledge. Visitors simply open the homepage and explore the selection that appears there.
eCash is the technology that makes this record possible. Its purpose matters more here than its inner workings: it gives Tonalli Memo a public reference for what has been posted and allows other pages to display that activity. The record does not automatically prove that a message is true, nor does the Xolos Ramírez homepage show every post related to eCash. It displays a changing selection of recent messages from the Tonalli Memo feed.
Why it belongs at Xolos Ramírez
The history of Xolos Ramírez is already told through many kinds of records. Photographs let us follow the growth of each puppy. Health and vaccination notes document important stages of care. Pedigrees and Federación Canófila Mexicana paperwork preserve formal lineage. Videos invite families back to share how a Xolo has adapted after going home, while articles connect the breed with Mexican culture.
Tonalli Memo replaces none of those records. A pedigree still serves its own purpose, just as a health booklet, certificate or dated photograph does. Tonalli Memo adds a different layer: a place for community moments, short messages and project milestones that, taken together, help explain how the world around these Xoloitzcuintli continues to evolve.
The connection also comes through the wider xolosArmy Network. This network explores ways to bring culture, community and digital tools together without moving the Xoloitzcuintli away from the center. Tonalli Memo is one of those tools. Its presence on Xolos Ramírez makes that dimension accessible to families and visitors in a direct, readable way.

What visitors can see now
The homepage section is designed to make sense at a glance. Visitors can:

Four recent posts appeared during the initial validation. That number reflected the activity available at that moment, not a permanent rule: the section can display up to six recent posts, and its contents change with the feed.
Teyolías remains part of our universe
To make room for this new homepage feature, the Tonalli Memo section took the place of the highlighted Teyolías promotional block. Teyolías has not been removed. Its pages remain available, and the program continues to be part of the Xolos Ramírez universe.
The change is editorial. The homepage now holds a community window that can evolve over time, while Teyolías keeps its dedicated spaces, where its purpose can be presented with the depth it deserves.
An ancient story that is still being written
There is something powerful about seeing a Xoloitzcuintli—a dog associated with journeys, memory and companionship since Mesoamerican times—beside a contemporary way of preserving messages. Not because the new should replace the ancient, but because the two can remain in conversation.
Xolos Ramírez will continue to be, above all, a project devoted to the Xoloitzcuintli: responsible breeding, wellbeing, history, culture and the families who welcome these dogs. Bringing Tonalli Memo to the homepage does not change that center. It widens the view, offering another way to see the community thinking, publishing and building memory.
The Xoloitzcuintli has accompanied people for centuries. Today, while each dog continues to write a personal story with a family, Xolos Ramírez is also exploring new ways to care for the collective memory growing around the breed.
